Terms of Use
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Roaden (“Roaden”, “we”, “us”) about your use of the Roaden app and its services. By creating an account or using Roaden, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Roaden.
1. Who can use Roaden
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- If you drive while using Roaden, you must hold a valid driving licence and drive a vehicle you are allowed to drive.
2. Your account
- Give accurate information, and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One account per person. Do not create accounts by automated means or on someone else’s behalf without their permission.
- If you think someone else has access to your account, change your password and contact us.
3. Drive safely — this matters most
Always obey traffic laws and speed limits, and pay attention to the road.
Do not handle your phone while driving. Set up a drive before you set off, or let a passenger use the app.
- Roaden is not a navigation system and not a timing device for racing on public roads.
- Speeds, acceleration times (such as 0–100 km/h) and other statistics are estimates calculated from GPS and can be inaccurate. Measure acceleration only where it is lawful and safe, such as a closed track.
- Records and leaderboards are never an invitation to break the law. We may remove records, drives and content that show dangerous or illegal driving.
- Speed camera locations come from OpenStreetMap, a map made by volunteers. They can be missing, wrong or out of date, and the absence of a warning never means there is no camera or no limit. Road signs always come first. Camera warnings are switched off in countries where the law forbids them, and you are responsible for following the law wherever you drive.
- You alone are responsible for how you drive.
4. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you post: photos, videos, posts, comments, routes and messages.
- So that we can run Roaden, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display and distribute your content within Roaden, for as long as it is on Roaden.
- Only post content you have the right to share, and do not post other people’s images or personal information without their permission.
5. No objectionable content, no abusive users
Roaden has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You must not post, send or share:
- harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation;
- hate speech, or content that attacks people for who they are;
- nudity or sexual content — and any sexual content involving minors, which we report to the authorities;
- graphic violence, or content that encourages violence or self-harm;
- content that promotes or shows dangerous or illegal driving, such as street racing, extreme speeding on public roads or evading the police;
- spam, scams, impersonation or deliberately misleading content;
- someone else’s personal information, such as their home address, without their consent;
- anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights, including copyright.
You also must not try to break, overload, scrape or get unauthorised access to Roaden, or get around its limits and safety features.
6. Reporting and blocking
- You can report a post, comment or profile from its menu in the app, and block any driver. People you block cannot see or interact with your content, and you will not see theirs. You can manage blocked drivers in Settings → Blocked drivers.
- We review reports within 24 hours. When content breaks these terms, we remove it, and we suspend or permanently ban the people responsible.
- You can also report anything to roadenapp@gmail.com.
7. Trips and live location
When you join a trip, the other people on it see your live location until the trip ends or you leave it. Only share trip invites with people you trust.
8. Other services
Roaden works with services from other companies, such as Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, Spotify and our map provider. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them. Controlling music requires the Spotify app and a Spotify account.
9. Ending your account
- You can stop using Roaden and delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account.
- We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if your use creates risk or harm for others, or if the law requires it.
10. Changes
We keep improving Roaden, so features may change or be removed. If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using Roaden after that, you accept the new terms.
11. Disclaimers and liability
- Roaden is provided “as is”. We cannot promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that location data and statistics will be accurate.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by how you drive or by content other people post.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Apple App Store
If you downloaded Roaden from the Apple App Store:
- These terms are between you and Roaden only, not Apple. Roaden, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or claims that the app infringes someone’s intellectual property.
- Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
